Rosanna Smith of Bella Villa Antiques & Vintage Rentals is one of the sweetest, most genuine people on the planet. She’s been a part of our videos for a few years now, as she’s a common vendor at weddings we shoot, a collaborator on styled shoots we’re a part of, and overall I personally consider her a great friend. Her story is filled with following dreams and passion, where she started an antique shop because she loved antiques, but loved them so much that she didn’t want to sell them. She would “shop her own store” constantly, and her collection of “do not sell” items grew so much that she transitioned her whole model to rent her favorite items out to styling weddings, events, and photoshoots. I can’t get over how genius this all is, as she’s the only one of her kind (at least in this area/that I know of).
ANYWAY. As my wife and I were cruising her shop for items to style our son’s first birthday, I, impressed by her vast collection, threw out the idea that we should film a promotional video for her business, and guess what, we did it! In shooting so many weddings and being a part of styled shoots for a few years in the Washington DC, Virginia, and Maryland area, we have several great shots of her work, along with behind the scenes shots of her actually styling these installments. Those shots would provide an excellent variety of footage when mixed with a bit of interview and supporting B-Roll of her shop that day. It all kind of worked out really well!
This video is a great intersection of our work in weddings living right along side of our corporate and business promotional video production. We recently made a blog post about how well these two collide to make beautiful visual music together, and working with Bella Villa is the perfect example of this!
