The SkipperFilms team has been on the go sense the spring, and we wanted to share with everyone what summer has brought us! Some life-long memories, especially since Sara has met a celebrity! Most importantly, we have worked on some incredible jobs and we are thrilled that with the season coming to an end, we can now look back at September 2022 with all smiles!

For the past couple of months, the team has been been traveling and doing many local shoots, that has kept us very busy! From Vegas to Ohio, the team has been keeping busy with editing, filming, photographing, and making lots of coffee runs. There’s never a dull moment, whether we are in the office, at a local shoot near Washington D.C, or far away, we are always having fun! We have much to share! So here it is!

SANS Network Security 2022 Conference was held this year in Los Vegas. It was the first time two members got to experience Los Vegas and all of its glory. They walked out of the plane and fell to the ground with the raging heat. We turned on Elvis while driving pass the famous Los Vegas sign and pulled into the Conference with vibrant energy, ready to set up and get started! Alex and Megan conducted interviews, while Sara and Billy cut down footage. We all even had a chance to go to some fancy restaurants, experience a wild art show, and drink lots of caffeine to recover our jet-leg . The next week consisted of shooting a few projects local to Washington D.C. We worked with Noblis shooting interview for their outgoing CEO’s retirement and then captured the opening of Salamander Washington DC! They purchased the Mandarin oriental Hotel in DC and are bringing their Middleburg resort to an already swanky hotel.

In the following weeks, the team traveled to Ohio and Chicago, experiencing a drastic shift in the weather. In Ohio the team shot for Turfscape through our long time partners at Landscape Leadership, which is always a joy! On our downtime,  we experienced seeing a new horror film at a local theater, had delicious hibachi (lots of sushi), and checked out some local coffee shops. The road trip consisted of Alex trying on some motion sickness glasses and listening to podcasts. The Chicago trip was off to a great start when we all saw Bill Murray at the airport. Sara even got to talk to him and take a photograph! The team filmed for a conference for Sunrise Senior Living that was back for the first time since the beginning of COVID-19. It was electric! Alex and Billy filmed as Sara edited and by the end there was an amazing video. In our downtime, we adventured the streets of Chicago, noticing that underground felt like a whole new world. We enjoyed some fancy steak and also went to the Starbucks Reserve Roastery and got some fancy teas and coffees.

Overall, our adventures and video shoots were a huge success. We get to work with such incredible people that make our job very exciting! As the season changes to fall we are all looking forward to new adventures and cannot wait to see where the next few months will take us!

If you are planning to create a recruitment and company video, please don’t hesitate to reach out! We would love to chat and learn more about how we can bring your vision to life!
